Jumbo Buttermilk Biscuits
Ingredients:
4 Cups AP Flour
½ tsp Baking Soda
2 Tbsp Baking Powder
2 tsp Salt
½ Cup Granulated Sugar
½ lb Salted Butter cut into chunks and chilled
½ lb Salted Butter melted
2 Cups Buttermilk

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar in food processor. Pulse 2-3 times to
combine
Add chilled butter to flour mixture and pulse 5-6 times until butter is incorporated and the size of a pea. Mixture will look grainy
Remove mixture and place in large bowl
Add buttermilk to flour mixture until completely incorporated. Mixture will become very sticky
Flour a flat work surface and turn dough out onto work surface
Kneed dough until smooth. About 3-4 times. Do not over kneed or biscuits will become tough
Lightly pat dough flat using your hands to 1/2 inch thickness. Do not use a rolling pin as it will overwork
the dough
Using a round cutter cut biscuits and place on baking sheet
Place biscuits on baking sheet right next to each other. Biscuits need to be touching to allow biscuits to bake up instead of out
Brush biscuits with 1 layer of melted butter
Place in oven and bake for 10 minutes
Remove biscuits and brush with second layer of melted butter, rotate pan and place back in oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown
Remove biscuits from oven and brush with third layer of melted butter

Allow biscuits to cool for 5 minutes and brush with last layer of butter

Enjoy!
